History

Weaver Cemetery occupies the northwestern edge of Comanche County between Highway 6 and the Sabana River, reached by county roads a few miles northwest of Gorman. The burial ground holds more than 200 graves, with some dating to the 1870s and 1880s, and includes Confederate memorials as well as monuments to World War II and Korean War veterans. Many of its oldest graves are marked only with bricks and native sandstone, a reminder of the area's frontier settlement.
