History
The Waples-Platter Buildings on North Lamar Street in Dallas housed the Waples-Platter Grocery Company, a wholesale grocery firm that became one of the largest in the Southwest and originated brands such as White Swan Coffee and Ranch Style Beans. Founded by Edward B. Waples and later led by his son Paul Waples, the operation supplied grocers across several states. The buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
