History

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum grew from a vision by local Holocaust survivors, who organized in the 1970s and 1980s and created a memorial center on the ground floor of the Dallas Jewish Community Center. It moved to the West End Historic District in 2005 and opened a purpose-built 55,000-square-foot building at Houston and Ross streets in September 2019. Its dual mission is to teach the history of the Holocaust and to advance human rights against prejudice and hatred.
