History
Clements Hall on the campus of Southern Methodist University in University Park was built in 1915 as one of the university's first two permanent buildings, originally serving as the women's residence. Designed by the firm Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge in the Georgian Revival style, it later became a men's dormitory renamed Atkins Hall before being renamed for former Texas Governor William P. Clements. It is one of a group of ten early Georgian Revival campus buildings listed together on the National Register of Historic Places on September 27, 1980.
