History
Hyer Hall at Southern Methodist University was built in 1927 to the Georgian Revival design of C.D. Hill & Company and named for Robert Stewart Hyer, SMU's first president. The three-story red brick building was constructed to relieve overcrowding in Dallas Hall and originally housed the physics, biology and geology departments. It was listed on the National Register in 1980 as a contributing part of SMU's historic Georgian Revival campus.
