History
The Bianchi House at 4503 Reiger Avenue in East Dallas is a brick Mission Revival residence designed by the noted Dallas firm Lang & Witchell in 1912 for Italian sculptor Didaco Bianchi and his wife Ida. Bianchi himself designed and executed its interior plasterwork and pilasters, and the home's advanced ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems earned it the 'House of the Future' honor at the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition. It remained in the Bianchi family until 1979 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places; a 2013 fire later damaged its interior.
