History
The Dallas Tent & Awning Building stands at 3401 Commerce Street in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas. Its restrained Chicago School commercial ornamentation reflects the industrial and commercial development that made Deep Ellum a major retail and entertainment center in the early twentieth century. The building was designated a Dallas Landmark in 1994 and added to the National Register in 1999.
