History
The Abdou Building stands in downtown El Paso and was constructed in 1910 for the Rio Grande Valley Bank to a Romanesque Revival design by the prolific firm of Trost & Trost. In 1925 the businessman Sam Abdou bought the building, reportedly for about $150,000, and it has carried his name ever since. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 24, 1980 as part of the 'Commercial Structures of El Paso by Henry C. Trost' thematic group.
