History

The Sharp House is a historic residence at 208 N. Gaines Street in Ennis, Ellis County, built in 1913. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as one of the private homes included in the 'Historic Resources of Ennis, Texas' multiple-resource nomination. Ennis grew as a division point on the Houston and Texas Central Railway, and its early-twentieth-century houses like this one document that prosperous railroad era.
