History

The Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum in Schulenburg honors brothers Victor and Joseph Stanzel, whose model-aircraft design and manufacturing business ran from the 1920s until 1997, producing display models, kits, control-line airplanes, and airplane-themed amusement rides. The brothers established the Stanzel Family Foundation in 1989, and the foundation building housing the museum opened in 1998. Exhibits in the Main Museum and Factory Wing chronicle the family's love of flight and mid-century model production.
