History

Grady Cemetery is the surviving trace of the ghost community of Grady in Fisher County, where J. W. McCombs settled in 1888 and a post office named for journalist Henry W. Grady opened in 1890. By 1896 the village had a gin, a flour mill, and a store; the post office closed in 1902 and the school consolidated with Hobbs in 1924, leaving only the cemetery by 1940.
