History

Wrightsboro Cemetery serves the small community of Wrightsboro, on FM 108 between Gonzales and Smiley, which by 1884 had grown to about seventy residents with two churches, saw and grist mills, and a cotton gin. The town added a hotel and Masonic hall by 1889 and reached a population of roughly 100 by the 1920s before slowly declining after its school consolidated with Gonzales in 1947. The cemetery was inventoried by the South Texas Genealogical and Historical Society.
