History

Hodge Cemetery is a historically African-American burial ground in the Oak Forest community of Gonzales County. It holds many descendants of families once enslaved by James Hodges, and its burials reach back to at least the mid-1840s. The Red River Sankofa Historical Society lists it among the African-American cemeteries of Central Texas.
