History

The Waelder Community Cemetery serves the town of Waelder, which the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway platted in 1874 and named for attorney Jacob Waelder. Holding roughly 460 recorded burials, it carries a Historic Texas Cemetery designation from the Texas Historical Commission.
