History

This Mexican-American Baptist cemetery (Cementerio Bautista) serves the Hispanic community of Waelder, a Gonzales County railroad town established in 1874 on the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio line. It is one of several separate congregational burial grounds that Waelder's ethnic and religious communities maintained.
