History

Elm Slough Cemetery served the historically African American Elm Slough community southeast of Gonzales, along the old Gonzales-to-Dilworth road. Its burials date from the late 1800s into modern times, and the small Dee Jones Family Cemetery lies about a quarter mile to the east. The ground is counted among the African American cemeteries of central Texas.
