History

Klein Cemetery was established during the Civil War by Mrs. Peter (Mary) Klein after three of her children died within a short period. The 1860 Hays County census lists the Kleins with four children, and the three youngest — Caroline, Charles, and Frances — are believed to be those buried here. The private site sits on what became the Joe Rogers Ranch near Buda and is marked only by a pile of rocks.
