History

Peerless Cemetery serves the small Peerless community in the northwestern corner of Hopkins County, with burials reaching back into the 1800s. Among those interred is John W. Lindley, born in Hopkins County in 1841 and remembered as the county's oldest native-born citizen, who lived his whole life in and near Peerless. The cemetery's records were first indexed in the 1970s and today document roughly a thousand graves.
