History

Deutschburg Cemetery serves the small farming community of Deutschburg in southern Jackson County, whose name reflects the German ("Deutsch") immigrants who settled the area. Among those interred are Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Christian "Herman" Gerhard and his wife Amalie, part of the German families who established the community. The cemetery holds roughly sixty recorded graves documenting these founding families.
