History

Old Ranch Cemetery sits on a working ranch off FM 70 southeast of Sandia in northern Jim Wells County, fenced with barbed wire and no longer maintained. Its seven remaining headstones, all broken, mark burials between 1918 and 1962, and the site appears to have served ranch hands and their families rather than a town. It is preserved only through Jim Wells County cemetery transcription projects.
