The Cleburne Carnegie Library was completed in 1905 in the Greek Revival style after the local women's club secured a grant from Andrew Carnegie in 1902, matched by local contributions; it was built by Zimmerman and McCoy under contractors Smith and Moore. The building served as the city library until 1978, when it became the Layland Museum. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
