History

Simpson Cemetery is a small family plot of only about four markers located near the community of Hackberry in northern Lavaca County. Its oldest stone belongs to Arabelle E. Simpson, who died in 1867. It lies a short distance beyond Andrews Chapel Cemetery, reflecting the scattered family burial grounds typical of the county's early settlement.
