History
Lebanon was a small farming community in east-central Live Oak County, about twelve miles southeast of Three Rivers, where a school was built in the 1880s and a Methodist congregation was organized in the 1890s. Revivals held there in that decade sometimes drew as many as 600 people from Live Oak and Bee counties before the church was moved to Cadiz around 1920. By the late 1930s only the graveyard remained; Lebanon Cemetery, with its distinct Hispanic section, still reflects the Spanish heritage of the surrounding South Texas ranch country.
