History

This unnamed cemetery lies within the Ray Point community of northeastern Live Oak County, a farming settlement that grew out of the Ray Ranch after cattleman James F. Ray subdivided and sold the land in the early 1920s. During the cotton boom, farm families—many of them German-speaking—bought acreage along Sulphur Creek and built a school that still stands as a community center. The Live Oak County Historical Commission records that the community's cemetery remains unnamed on its deeds and in state records.
