History

The Llano County Historical Museum occupies the former Bruhl's Drugstore, founded in 1900 by Louis H. Bruhl and given to the Llano County Historical Society by the family in 1965. Bruhl's original marble-top soda fountain and leather stools still greet visitors at the door. Exhibits range from a 1919 Studebaker wagon to the pistol used by Captain James R. Moss in the 1873 Packsaddle Mountain fight, the county's last skirmish between settlers and Native Americans.
