History

Old Foundry Cemetery is a historic burial ground in Marion County near Jefferson whose name recalls the county's early iron-industry heritage. Marion County was home to one of Texas's first heavy-industry ventures—the Kelly foundry and furnace begun at nearby Kellyville in 1848, which grew into the well-known Kelly Plow Company before relocating to Longview in 1882.
