History

Marion Cemetery is a rural burial ground in northern McCulloch County that served the farming community around Waldrip, some twenty-two miles north of Brady near the Colorado River. Waldrip took shape after a post office opened in 1879 and by 1884 had a school, a church, and about thirty residents. In 1959 area residents organized the Marion-Chaffin Cemetery Association to care for Marion and nearby Chaffin cemeteries.
