History

Minerva Cemetery lies just east of Minerva, a rural community six miles north of Rockdale that grew out of the older village of Midway and was named for Adeline Minerva Sanders, who donated land for the townsite, the railroad, and the Methodist church. The burial ground holds graves dating from 1884 onward and is tended by the Minerva Community Cemetery Association.
