History

The Keen Family Cemetery near Hoyte is a small family burial ground in central Milam County, about six miles southeast of Cameron. Hoyte, once called Cone's Switch, grew up around a Santa Fe railroad siding on land given by John B. McLane about 1900 and never became more than a flag stop with a small depot, school, and a few houses.
