History

Morning Star Cemetery is a predominantly African American cemetery in Naples, Morris County, located just north of the U.S. 67 and State Highway 77 intersection. Its earliest marked grave belongs to a child, Ora Lee, who died in 1897, showing burials began in the 1890s. The site was documented in 1998 for the Morris County cemetery survey, drawing on obituaries from the Naples Monitor.
