History

Six Mile Cemetery lies about six miles southwest of Carthage in the rural Snap community of Panola County. It is an old burial ground notable for the fact that many descendants of the families interred there still live nearby. The cemetery has repeatedly been damaged by vandals but continues to be maintained, with nearly 200 documented graves.
