History

Koehler's Saloon and Store in Fort Stockton was built of field stone in the 1870s. In 1884 Herman Koehler opened a saloon at one end of the building and operated a general store and bank at the other, later adding a second story. The structure was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1966 and reflects the early commercial life of the Pecos County seat.
