History

Located at the town of Annona in southeastern Red River County, this cemetery serves the Annona community that grew up along the railroad in the late 19th century. The historic Annona burial ground on the south side of town has graves reaching back to 1884 and is closely associated with the Rock of Ages Baptist Church, leading some residents to call it Rock of Ages Cemetery. The Annona Cemetery Society secured the land in a 1942 deed from the J. D. Lawson headright survey.
