History

The Vintage Flying Museum is a nonprofit aviation museum at Fort Worth's Meacham International Airport, housed in a 1940s hangar the Army Air Force built for B-29 bombers. It was founded in 1988 when William "Doc" Hospers bought a B-17, and he and his wife, Charlyn "Chuckie" Hospers, purchased the hangar and opened the museum in 1990. A "working" museum, it keeps many of its roughly 30 vintage warbirds and civilian aircraft airworthy and serves as the maintenance home for the CAF B-29 Fifi.
