History

The Algerita Hotel in Post, Texas, opened on July 17, 1908, in the young railroad town founded by cereal magnate C. W. Post. Over its long life the building served in turn as a hotel, doctor's office, grocery store and community arts center. It was demolished in 2014 after 106 years of use, having been removed from the National Register of Historic Places.
