History

Plum Grove Cemetery near the community of Plum in Fayette County was established about 1869, when members of the historic Plum Grove Baptist Church near West Point united with a newly formed congregation at Pleasant Retreat. It is distinct from the older Plum Grove Cemetery at West Point and served the farming families around Plum. The cemetery carries on the name of one of the earliest Baptist congregations in Texas.
