History
This two-story depot was built in 1909 and 1910 as the Texas headquarters of Arthur Stilwell's Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railway, and became known as the Santa Fe Passenger Depot after the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway acquired the line in 1928. Threatened with demolition, it was saved by local citizens, deeded to the city in 1989, and restored to house the Railway Museum of San Angelo. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
