History

The St. Charles House stood on Sixth Street in downtown Austin, built by Sebra G. Brush and operated as a hotel and restaurant known as the St. Charles Hotel, run for a time by a proprietor called Madame Saffroni, until 1924. The building is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and sits among other historic structures in Austin's Sixth Street commercial district.
