History

The H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Museum of Texas grew from a 1993 Veterans Day display honoring Huntsville native Brigadier General Ray Lynch, assembled by founder Charlotte Oleinik. Its name stands for 'Helping Every American Remember Through Serving.' After operating in leased mall space, it moved to a permanent building on state-donated land between State Highway 75 and Interstate 45, next to the Texas Prison Museum.
