History

The Olney Heritage Museum, at 213 East Main Street in Olney, was founded by the L.F. and Carla Perry Foundation to preserve the history of the town and the families who have lived there, with exhibits built largely from items donated by Olney citizens. Settled around 1879-1880, Olney became a leading oil town after the 1924 Swastika Pool discovery, reaching a population of 5,000 by 1930.
