History
The Burns Building at 401 East Houston Street was named for Hugh Burns, who bought the property in 1913 shortly before his death; his widow and son completed the building in 1918 as a home for the Washer Brothers clothing store. Architect Ralph Cameron worked on modifications by 1921, and the building stands within San Antonio's downtown historic district.
