History

Daughters Cemetery adjoins Pilgrims Cemetery near Rosharon in northern Brazoria County and is part of the historically African American Pilgrims, Knights and Daughters Cemetery complex on FM 1462. Its name comes from the Black fraternal benevolent societies, the Knights and Daughters, that founded and cared for the burial ground. The Knights and Daughters grounds hold a Historic Texas Cemetery designation from the Texas Historical Commission.
