History

Recorded in county lists as Ceekmore, this is the Creekmore Cemetery of western Cass County, which began as the Hass family graveyard. Landowner Henry Hass asked to be buried in his orchard near his home and was interred there upon his death in 1856; the cemetery took the Creekmore name after one of his daughters married a man of that surname. Most families buried here trace their roots to the Hass line.
