History

The Republic National Bank Building, completed in 1954, was the headquarters for Republic National Bank and instantly became a Dallas landmark. At 602 feet the 36-story tower was the tallest building in Dallas and west of the Mississippi at its completion, designed by Wallace K. Harrison of Harrison & Abramovitz of New York with Dallas associates Gill & Harrell. One of the first U.S. buildings clad in aluminum panels, it was designated a Dallas Landmark in 2004 and listed on the National Register in 2005.
