History
The eight-story Wilson Building at 1623 Main Street in downtown Dallas was completed in 1904 for cattle baron J. B. Wilson and designed by the Fort Worth firm Sanguinet & Staats, its facade patterned after the Paris Opera. It was the tallest building in Dallas from 1904 to 1909 and originally housed the Titche-Goettinger department store on its lower floors. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and later converted into loft apartments.
