History

This listing is a boundary increase for the Busch-Kirby Building, the 17-story Late Gothic Revival skyscraper at 1509 Main Street in downtown Dallas. Completed in 1913 by beer magnate Adolphus Busch and designed by Barnett, Haynes & Barnett with Lang & Witchell, the tower was sold to the Kirby Investment Group of Houston in 1918 and renamed. Originally listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, the building later saw the first office-to-residential conversion among downtown Dallas high-rises.
