History

The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum opened April 25, 2013, on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, dedicated in a ceremony attended by five U.S. presidents. SMU won a competitive 2005-2006 bidding process over schools including Baylor, Texas Tech, and the University of Texas System. The museum features a full-size Oval Office replica and a Texas Rose Garden, while the library holds roughly 70 million pages of records, 200 million emails, and about 3.8 million photographs.
