History

McAdoo Cemetery serves the community of McAdoo in northeastern Dickens County. Robert and Maggie Nickels deeded two acres for the cemetery to the county on January 15, 1918, and the first burial followed that October with the death of three-month-old Mamie Lee Smith. The grounds, about a mile west and half a mile south of McAdoo, are maintained by the McAdoo Cemetery Association.
