History
The Weatherford House at 501 N. Preston Street in Ennis is associated with William Weatherford, a cotton buyer originally from Houston who purchased the home in 1924 and lived there until 1954. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 within the 'Historic Resources of Ennis, Texas' multiple-resource nomination. The house stands in the historic north-side residential district of the old railroad town.
