History

Galveston City Hall at 823 25th Street (Rosenberg Avenue) is a four-story Beaux-Arts Classical Revival building constructed in 1915-1916 to designs by Dallas architect C. D. Hill and built by the Gross Construction Company for $205,693. It was the third city hall in Galveston's history, replacing structures affected by the devastating 1900 hurricane, and features a rusticated first floor, Doric columns framing the entrance, and a low hip roof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
